This post will show you a sweet, little-known hiking spot in Poway.
What’s more beautiful than an outcropping of bright flowers in the midst of a open field? Check out this interesting and little-used Poway hike here: Betty Bendixen Park.
Park alongside the main road, as the lot adjacent to the little playground (at the head of the trail) actually belongs to the Kiwanis Club/ Shriners.
The hike takes you right by a sweet little pond.
I’m not going to claim you can catch a trout dinner here, but there are little fish, turtles, and dragonflies to marvel at.
Not to mention wildflowers GALORE.
Also, there are no bathrooms, but this park has a sweet playground and is a perfect little hike for kids.
Thanks for looking, and happy trails!
