I love waking up in the morning and scrolling through recipe ideas while still in bed, especially recipes for breakfast treats. This morning I happened upon Jamie Oliver’s “Crumbliest Scones” post and although I probably haven’t had a proper scone since my study abroad days decade(s!) ago, they sounded good today.
They indeed turned out crumbly, as billed. I made mine with raisins, but the family quickly made it known that chocolate chips would amp the tastiness factor by ten. So maybe skip the raisins-marinated-in-OJ step and just throw in the same amount of chocolate chips. I cut these with a scallop-edged biscuit cutter.
