Today was one of those rare days in San Diego when it was both rainy and chilly, so I found myself driving to the library for some books. Why do I go so long forgetting what a treasure the library is for me, not just for the kids? I always carry out more than I will ever read in three weeks. Having a thick stack at the ready practically made the sun come out!
It’s also prime fall weather for a pot roast. This pot roast, courtesy of Ree Drummond, is one of my family’s FAVORITES – and by family I mean everyone from the old man to the little man. They ask for seconds and thirds. I make it with fluffy mashed potatoes and it’s easily one of the top five meals in my repertoire, hands down.
You’re welcome.
